Walt Churchill brought good taste to Toledo.

But beyond that, he and Lois cared deeply for our community and for the people in it. Long before "community engagement" became a business buzzword, they were quietly doing the work.

Walt built his family's neighborhood grocery stores into something special and, in time, gave them to the people who helped build them by making them 100% employee owned. That says a lot about the kind of man he was.

I have many photos of Walt and Lois raising a glass with friends gathered around good food. They understood that some of life's best moments happen around a table.

Over the years, Walt introduced me to many wonderful things, but the one I'll always smile about is Pol Roger Champagne. Every time I see a bottle, I'll think of him.

He lived life on his own terms, lived it well, and always seemed to make room for everyone else.

My thoughts are with the Churchill family and everyone at Walt Churchill's Market .

When Toni, a hardworking mom of three, was just days away from completing renovations on a home she planned to rent out, the unthinkable happened— someone stole all of the kitchen and bathroom materials from the property.

After hearing her story, Yark Automotive Group and 13ABC stepped in to help support Toni and her family during this difficult setback. We are proud to be part of a community that comes together to lift earlier up when it matters most.

Wishing Toni the very best as she works to finish the project and move forward stronger than ever.

We’re honored to support the Malcolm family and their miracle baby, Aasiah. After spending the first 11 months of his life in the NICU, Aasiah recently celebrated his very first birthday at home.

Inspired by their journey, his mother Rhyelle created Abundance Of Love, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families facing NICU stays, pregnancy complications, and infant loss. Through care packages, compassion, and community, she’s turning their experience into something truly meaningful.
