Shooting weddings is cool but it cooler to shoot the wedding of a friend of 14 years. Jaime and John, “congrats” is such an understatement. I am so truly happy for you both and happy to have witnessed it and captured many moments.

One view of the Dark Side of the Peptide Boom: Ashley Graham & Teen Risks

We’ve all seen the buzz around GLP-1s (Ozempic/Wegovy) and other peptides. But we need to slow down and think critically.

’s Take on GLP-1s
The body-positivity advocate just called the rapid rise of cosmetic weight-loss drugs a “smack in the face.” In an April 30 interview with Marie Claire, she said the trend feels “disheartening” and like a major setback for body inclusivity.

Her point? After years of fighting for diverse body types to be celebrated, the spotlight is shifting back to extreme thinness. Still, Graham vows to keep pushing for body confidence, adding: “This drug isn’t going to wipe out a whole statistic of women.”

Some fans agree — warning of a return to “skinny culture.” Others argue GLP-1s are legitimate medical tools. Both sides have a point.

Meanwhile… Teens & “Research Peptides”
A separate, urgent trend: teenagers are buying unregulated injectable peptides (like BPC-157, CJC-1295, TB-500) online, driven by TikTok and Telegram influencers promising fast muscle, weight loss, or “looksmaxxing.”

While skincare peptides and collagen are safe, injectable “biohacking” peptides are often labeled “not for human consumption.” Experts warn they can disrupt puberty, bone development, and hormones — with almost no long-term safety data for adolescents.

Even GLP-1s, FDA-approved for teens 12+ only in specific forms, are being abused via unregulated compounded versions.

Bottom line:
· Body positivity and medical treatment don’t have to be enemies — but the pressure to be thin at any cost is real.
· Teens should never use experimental injectable peptides. Healthy growth comes from sleep, nutrition, and real training — not black-market vials.
· Talk openly with your family and doctors. Social media trends are not medical advice.
