It won't always be this way.

The backyard games become driver's licenses.
The toy dinosaurs become college dorms.
The bedtime stories become late-night phone calls.

But today?

Today they're running barefoot through the grass, showing you their "cool trick" for the hundredth time, asking you to look... again.

And every time you stop what you're doing and watch, you're building a memory they may never realize they're giving you.

As a photographer, I've witnessed thousands of these little moments. The giggles. The scraped knees. The imaginary worlds. The way they look back just to make sure you're still watching.

Those are the photographs that matter most.

Because one day, you'll look back at those images and remember exactly how this season felt.

Take the picture.
Get in the frame.
Watch them play a little longer.

I’ve been in this industry long enough to have seen a little bit of everything. ✨️

I’ve seen the comparison. I’ve seen the cliques. I’ve seen the “mean girl” mentality that sometimes creeps into creative spaces.

And if I’m being honest… there have probably been moments where someone saw me as the mean girl, too.

Not because that was ever my intention but because when you’re passionate, protective of your work, and learning how to navigate an industry full of big personalities, sometimes people misunderstand you.

But somewhere along the way, I realized something…

The person standing next to me with a camera isn’t my enemy. They’re another human being chasing a dream. They’re another artist trying to create something beautiful.

And that’s not a threat. That’s something worth celebrating. ❤️

Almost every person who steps in front of my viewfinder becomes more than just a client. They become a connection. A story. A friendship. And that sometimes includes fellow photographers!

The idea that I should look at someone else’s success and see it as taking something away from me is just silly.

There is no shortage of love, memories, milestones, and moments waiting to be captured.

Have I had clients who didn’t value my work? Absolutely.
Have I poured my heart into something only to feel overlooked or unappreciated? Of course.

But at some point, you have to decide: are you going to let those experiences harden you, or are you going to let them shape you?

For me… it’s now or never. Let go of things that don't matter and focus on the GOOD of it all.

I don’t want to build a career based on comparison, fear, or trying to be “better than” someone else.

I want to build a career where people feel seen. Where photographers support photographers.

Because at the end of the day...
It’s about people.

And I’ll choose people over greed or ego any day. 💜📷
