Today's update is short and sweet with a video of Snow, now bandage free, self-feeding his breakfast! While the fractures in his still growing bones continue to align, calcify, and strengthen, the medical team will closely observe his range of motion, posture, and natural behaviors for any early indicators of limitations.

These signs, or a lack thereof, will aid the team in determining the overall path ahead for Snow! In the meantime, he will maintain his current course of care: physical therapy, anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal meds, breathing treatments, and a nutritious diet.

▪️𝗕𝗲𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽: Snow chose to self-feed during breakfast. While a positive sign for recovery that allows staff to limit human contact, his overall condition through Friday remains largely unchanged.
▪️𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀: The sanctuary is shifting focus toward defining what his long-term path forward looks like.
▪️𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: Over the coming week, the team will compile data and consult with veterinarians, the Association to Rescue Kritters (A.R.K.), and state/federal agencies to evaluate his options and determine if he is releasable.

North Sky Raptor Sanctuary just dropped Part 2 of today's update with photos, giving us a deeper look into Snow's care and some incredible milestones!

🩺 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

🔹𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴: Snow was stable enough for a blood draw! This will check his overall health, lead levels, and 𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝗦𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 (results take about a week)! 🦅❓

🔹𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗲𝗿: 2 full days with NO open-mouth breathing! The infection treatments are working beautifully. 🎉

🦅 𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝟲𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬𝗦, 𝗦𝗡𝗢𝗪! 💚 (6-11-26)

Our sweet Snow hatched 60 days ago today (April 11 at 12:15 PM)! To celebrate, North Sky Raptor Sanctuary shared an incredible "Spa Day" progress report from his veterinary team, and the news is highly encouraging! ✨❄️

🩺 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀:

🔹𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀: The orthopedic surgeon determined Snow's ulna fracture has healed enough that the supportive bandage could be removed!

🔹𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲: He is still getting physical therapy, nebulizer treatments, and splint monitoring for his wrist fracture.

🔹𝗘𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗹: He is back to self-feeding behaviors just like a normal nestling! 🐟

Running a wildlife sanctuary is incredibly expensive, and specialized medical care, custom food sources, and large flight enclosures are absolutely vital for giving raptors like Snow a second chance at life in the wild. This footage was captured on June 6th when Snow was 56 days old, showing his strong appetite as he enjoys his dinner in rehab (starting with a mouse!). 🐭 Today, Snow is 59 days old. ✨🦅

Back at the nest area, Harriet spent several hours yesterday afternoon and evening keeping watch over her territory from the back branch. This morning, Harry was spotted perched nearby on another tree keeping watch. ❤️️❄️️

Our sweet eaglet Snow is 59 days old today! While he continues his recovery in rehab, Harriet has been perched on the back branch of the nest tree, spending several hours there this afternoon and evening keeping watch over her territory.

Over at North Sky Raptor Sanctuary, today's update shows Snow receiving his critical daily nebulizer treatments to protect his lungs and air sacs.
