A little heart to heart with my clients 🤍
Something I’ve noticed lately has honestly been a little heartbreaking.
I’ve had several clients recently receive their galleries from the last 6 months and tell me that some of their images “look AI.” And I completely understand why they might say that, AI has become so incredibly common that certain photographic characteristics are now associated with it. It’s never been a problem ever before.
But the funny thing is… those characteristics have been part of my photography style for years. Long before AI was a part of the conversation.
I’m a fine art photographer, and I love a dreamy, soft, creamy look. I intentionally use lenses and apertures that create that beautiful, extremely blurred background. I retouch skin, remove blemishes, enhance eyes, soften distractions, and create that polished, almost magical feeling in my images.
That has always been my work. 🤍
AI didn’t teach me how to edit this way. If anything, AI has simply learned to imitate some of the visual qualities that photographers have been creating for decades.
And if you are one of my clients and you prefer a more natural, less retouched look, please just let me know during your session! I am always happy to know your preferences and make sure I’m creating exactly what you’re envisioning. Everyone is different some people tell me please edit EVERYTHING and ANYTHING others simply as to remove a pimple but keep everything the same. I’m okay with either ❤️ I just want to create art for you!
Yes, there are a few AI tools that have made certain parts of my workflow a little faster, just like any other technology photographers have adopted over the years. But the artistic vision, the way I photograph you, the way I edit your images, and the final look I deliver are still intentionally mine.
So if you receive your gallery and think, “Wow, this looks almost too dreamy,” I promise that’s not me trying to make your photos look AI.
That’s just my art. Like it has been.
And I hope that never changes. ❤️
Thank you for trusting me with your memories and allowing me to create them in the style I’ve spent so many years developing. ❤️
