I'm super excited about this weekend - I'm getting to photograph my derby team Confluence Crush Roller Derby while they play Chicago Style Roller Derby in Roselle!

But before that, my family is visiting the Shedd Aquarium, and of course I'm doing some photography there too!

Yesterday, I had the honor of taking photos at the IHSA umpire clinic for 2026 for the region. These guys are the reason the kids get to play the game, and I was in the same room as some of the best umpires in the state. They're obviously dedicated to doing the best they can both on and off the field, and coming together to get ready for the new season is a big part of that.

Thanks to the guys for allowing me to document what y'all are doing behind-the-scenes, and I'm rooting for you all to have a great season this year!

Confluence Crush Roller Derby hosted the first annual Sweetheart Smackdown, and when I wasn't jam timing and scorekeeping, I was honored to be asked to photograph! I am so thankful for the talented players who allow me to capture them having fun and showing their amazing skills. Everyone who showed up, on the track or behind the scenes, made this day possible.

Thank you also to my team, Confluence Crush - y'all encourage me every day beyond the track, and I will always love y'all.
