The dog who "never listens" gave us the best frame of the whole session.
Nose-to-nose with a six-year-old who adores him. Quiet. Still. The kind of moment you can't pose if you tried.
Pets are family, and including them in your session is one of the most rewarding decisions you can make. After photographing dozens of dogs alongside their humans, a few things tend to make these sessions shine:
A long walk the morning of helps wiggles settle into softness. Bring the treats they only get on special occasions, and the toy that always works. Let your pet explore the space for a few minutes before we start, sniffing corners is how they say "okay, I'm ready."
And the magic shot? It's almost never the one where everyone is looking at the camera. It's the cheek against fur. The leash dropped. The small hand resting on a familiar back.
These are the frames that belong on your wall, the ones that remind you, years from now, exactly who was part of your family this season of life. š¾
