Not every portrait session has to look the same.

Sometimes we trade the studio backdrop for a tennis racket. Sometimes there's no big occasion to celebrate just an excuse to create something fun, try a new idea, and make images that feel a little different.

Portraits don't have to follow the rules. They just have to tell your story.

We were honored to be asked to come and help photograph a dance event the last couple of days! Thank you Arizona Folklórico Dance Co. and Danielle for having us out. We had a ton of fun and the show was amazing!! Congratulations to all the performers for all your hard work!!

Sleep was missed, but photos were edited! We got almost 300 images last night at the VFW Barrel Racing event!! It was wonderful coming out to meet everyone and we had a blast taking pictures for you all!!! We got what we could before it got too dark to get good shots. We are going to experiment with some light options for the next run!! We look forward to coming out for more events in the future!

You will get the non-watermarked file. If you would like prints because you loved the image so much you can order prints directly through the gallery as well. I know it is late and WAAAAYYYY past our bed time.. but we just wanted to Say great job to Charlie and Oakley! We sponsored these two in the VFW barrel riding competition that took place this evening! You both did great!!!

We should be in bed.. but decided to do some editing.. hopefully we will have all the pictures done soon to share with everyone!!

Went to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum yesterday morning.. got some decent pics.. one of the new mountain lion cubs even made an appearance..

We had a lot of fun going around talking to people last night at the Missionview Saddle Club Board Gymkhana event. Sadly, we did not get to stay for the whole thing as 4:30am came early. But we got some pictures before the event started while talking with people at their trailers. Ran into some people we knew and met a bunch of new people we had not met yet!

One question I got a few times was how people could pay us back for taking pictures at these events. We did not do it and still don’t do it expecting to get paid, but if you want to pay us back in some way, just keep us in mind if you need a photographer!

This morning we ventured out to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. Luckily, we got a few decent pics before the heat chased us away!!

So, we spent the last 3 days doing a photography convention. It was a wonderful experience and got to meet a lot of amazing people and spend time with friends! While we were there, we had the opportunity to learn from some amazing photographers and videographers. During our classes we got the opportunity to take a few shots of some amazing models. It was an amazing experience!!

Tamron was even kind enough to let me run around with a $1,800 lens and play with it for two days!!! (Admittedly, their scheme worked as I want to buy one now!!) All the images except the cowboy were taken with the Tamron 35-150mm 2-2.8f lens.

While I spent more time taking notes than shooting pictures, here are a few of my favorites from the last couple days!!

I will probably add a couple more posts with specific memories/moments from the conference that deserve their own mention separately.

Last December I got a new lens for my camera and was testing it at Auga Caliente Park. While I was there, I got a few pictures of a Snowy Egret. I also met Kay Ross. She was a super neat person that does paintings and such. We spoke for a bit, and she said she was interested in painting one of my photographs of the Egret. We exchanged emails and I sent her images of the Egret.

I just got an email from her, and she finished painting one of my pictures! I thought this was super cool and with her permission I am sharing both my image as well as a picture of the painting she sent me!

You never know who you will meet or what kind of collaborations will come each time you strike up a conversation with someone!!
