Documentary style photography doesn’t require complex planning and exorbitant decorating. My favorite part of witnessing and photographing your wedding stories is taking what is real and authentic to you, and finding the art already within it. I don’t create photographs that look beautiful, I witness the memories you live, and give them back to you in a gallery you get to keep forever.

Documentary style photography is about noticing the little glimmers of beauty that occur during the natural course of your wedding day.

While documenting Kara and her bridesmaids getting their makeup and hair done, I saw this little patch of sunlight reflecting through the window. It took less than 5 minutes of effortless, intentional portraits to capture this little peice of time before Kara married the love of her life. The wait before the wedding ceremony, with Kara still in her pajamas and the sun streaming into the room, is the kind of memory worth photographing.

Documentary style photography keeps you emotionally present during one of the most transformative days of your life. Beautiful portraits that are created alongside your real lived experience. This is why, when you look at your wedding photos in 20 years, your pictures will make you feel the moment as it it were yesterday. Documentary style photography feels authentic, intentional, and REAL.
