NGC772 - The Nautilus Galaxy is now the farthest object we have yet imaged, which - according to NASA, lies at 115 million light years distant. The Galaxy is twice the size of our own Milky Way at 200,000 light years across. One of NGC772’s spiral arms has been distorted and disrupted by one of its satellite galaxies, NGC770 - also visible in the image below, leaving it elongated and asymmetrical. Full color prints are available on request and help to raise money for fun and educational observatory programs.
