Shots have been fired since I’ve arrived on scene. Law enforcement presence continues to grow as this standoff goes on. I’ve since moved to a safer location to eliminate any chance of being in the line of fire.

If you’re new to the current situation, multiple law enforcement agencies have a home in Grandfield, OK surrounded after shots were fired, per scanner traffic. Please avoid the area of and around Second street and Tipton st.

May 23, 2024. A tornado touched down west of OK-34 about 8 miles south of Duke, OK. It traveled almost parallel to the highway as it made its may towards the northwest, destroying few rural homes in its path. We eventually stopped north of US-62 and County Road 196 where we checked on a home that took a direct hit. Thankfully no one was hurt but I’ll never forget walking through their doorway, preparing myself for the worst and being rained on because the roof was completely gone. This was my second closest tornado intercept. KSWO7News

Tour de Meers Bicycle Ride, Meers, OK has officially kicked off as of 7:30 this morning. This yearly ride has been taking place since 1989 and has become such an attraction that draws many cyclists both native to the area and from out of state. As their one and only fundraiser, Meers Volunteer Fire Department puts this on each year with the help of many volunteers.

Local commuters may notice an uptick in cyclists on the roadways near and around the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Of course they’ll be proceeding with caution and I encourage you to do the same. KSWO7News

A truck traveling southbound on SW 52nd street, near SW G avenue collided with previously damaged railroad arms despite the added signage for caution. No injuries were reported.

While I was on scene, nearby residents and business owners questioned me regarding the timeline of repairs. KSWO7News
