There is something so special about photographing a family in the middle of becoming.

We spent a beautiful evening at C**t State Park, soaking in the golden light, the waterfront views, and all the anticipation that comes with waiting to meet a new little one. Between the laughter, quiet moments, and gentle breeze off the bay, it felt like the perfect backdrop for this chapter of their story.

One of my favorite things about maternity sessions is that they aren’t just about documenting a baby bump, they’re about preserving a season that passes far too quickly. The excitement, the hope, the love that’s already growing long before baby arrives.

I can’t wait to meet the newest member of this beautiful family. 💛

1. Choose a location that feels meaningful to you. Your backyard absolutely counts.⁠

2. Plan around your kids’ happiest time of day, not just the “best” lighting.⁠

3. Come ready to move, play, and be together. I’ll take care of the rest.⁠

You don’t need to have it all together to book the session. You really, really don’t.

After more than a decade behind the camera, here’s what I’ve learned: the people waiting for the “perfect” time usually never book. Then a year passes. Then five. The kids are taller, the dog has gone gray, your business has evolved, and you still don’t have photos that actually feel like you.

Whether it’s family photos, branding, or updated headshots, you do not need to lose ten pounds, have the perfect wardrobe, or wait until life feels less chaotic. My job is to make the experience feel easy, hold space for the real moments, and hand you back images you’ll actually use, print, and love for years.

Studio or on-location? The truth is, both can be incredible for brand photos. It all depends on the story you want to tell.

Studio sessions bring a clean, elevated, editorial feel with complete control over lighting and styling.

On-location sessions, especially along the water, like this one is Newport’s Point neighborhood, add texture, movement, and personality. The quiet docks, coastal light, and timeless architecture create a backdrop that feels effortless and authentic.

Some brands need polished and minimal.
Some need lived-in and coastal.
The best sessions often blend a little of both.
