The people we are before babes ….they will never know us. The lightning split second babes are laid in our arms we are born too. Maybe they will never know the man without silver threads catching the light at his temples. The images of their infancy hazy memories of our younger sleepless days.
They won’t remember the lighter wild laughter of your youth - but the wiser softer hum of amusement now.
The deeply mapped out laugh lines will be well worn paths …paths they have made and traced with you. Their memories a physical familiarity. Their home.

The soft connection of two souls lost in the dance. I sat with my dinner at the top of a stone wall - the very end of the nights celebrations watching guests wander in and out as the music hummed low. This couple danced as if no one else was there.

The posed images are important, of course. The ones like these though...that feel like a movie...they're the ones we will always come back to to look at over and over again.
