Through the mountains we went
All packed up
Off to explore
The deeper the ascent
Travelers absent

Encountered
Mama turkey,
Fuzzy chicks in tow,
Morning dove,
Crow, crows, crows,
Fittingly, but surprised by
Precious dragonflies.

Boon docking,
On nature’s paradise,
hummingbirds in glory.
Whimsical honey bees
Heavenly skies
Transformed butterflies.

Up the mountain,
Thunder pranced,
Hills and meadows,
Captivating stance,
Rain sky cries.

Roosters crows,
Spirit,
Patter with ol’ friends,
Reminiscing of day gone bys.

Long Lakes,
Primitive dam,
Streams + brooks abustle,
Covered bridge
Timber trusses
Presence over waterways
gazing eyes.

We trekked for miles
Over a wriggly bridge,
Moose tracks abound,
Not a sole to be found.
O’er lonely pond
Serene sunset skies.

Final night,
Deep in the woods,
Deer leaps,
Sweet fox,
Rabbit jumping,
Turkey trot,
Crows, crows, crows,
Deer flies.

Astounded
We came to the edge
About rocky mantel
Dipped our toes
In flowy waterfalls
Amidst loggers blight

Waxing crescent
July moon
Followed her home
Temper into dark
night sky.

Stars bright gazing,
Satellites dancing,
Galaxy sparkling,
Big Dipper
No comet tho
Epic lightening bug aflight.

It’s all just a beautiful memory now
How grateful I am. ❤️🙏❤️
