Since the coming weeks will change life dramatically, I wanted to share an early Thanksgiving post because I am so thankful for the amazing clients I have had in 2024.
As some of you know, photography has been a major challenge for me this year. I have dealt with severe color and texture aversions throughout most of my pregnancy, which has made it nearly impossible to do anything with my business (or in daily life for that matter). Photography has been my creative outlet for many years and doing less than 10 photoshoots and almost no travel/nature photography this year made it feel like my creativity was suffering. However, each photoshoot I was able to do lifted my spirits because my clients allowed me the creative space I craved and still chose me to take their photos, even though they didn't know if it would take a week or a month to get their edited photos because of my aversions. Thanks so much to all of you who still let me capture your lifetime adventures this year, and for your kindness and empathy during this wild journey. I am forever grateful for each of you. ā¤
I am hopeful to start sharing client photos again in the coming months, but in the meantime, another way I tried to stay creative was through taking my own maternity photos: "Joe, we can't do our normal pose of me jumping on your back-- my belly is too big, and my arms are too short...", and so we improvised.
