when smay from reached out to see if i’d capture her family while they were visiting our hometown, i was over the moon✨

we went to high school together, and i’ve followed her motherhood journey from the very beginning, so it felt especially meaningful to witness and document her sweet family through my lens.

we spent a warm summer evening at her childhood home, adventuring with her three boys in the backyard — starting in the adorable cottage her mama had built just for the grandkids 🥹

this is what i live to capture: the unfiltered, unfolding story of motherhood and family — the quiet, chaotic, joyful essence of life as it really is. there is nothing that makes my heart happier than documenting your people in the places that mean the most to you 🎞️🖤

smay is the founder of a beautiful breastmilk keepsake jewelry business and has created a loving community of empowered mamas. i’ve admired her work for years (and i’ve had my eye on one of her stunning breastmilk rings just as long!) can’t wait for the day i get to wear one of my own 🤍

still not over last night… someone please pinch me 🥹✨

what started as just a little vision in my head turned into one of the most beautiful, joy-filled experiences i’ve ever been part of. to see it all come together… every tiny detail, every loving touch, was beyond words. on my car ride home last night i was sending everyone sappy voice notes just buzzing with gratitude 🫶🏼

from the very beginning, hilllary was an absolute angel. from dreaming alongside me, to coordinating vendors, to finalizing the tiniest details :: she made everything feel so seamless. if you’re looking for a wedding planner, she is 1000% your girl.

and the florals… oh my goodness. johanna brought the most whimsical garden dream to life, grown in her own backyard. i’m still swooning over every bloom 🌸✨

from the delicate linens and vintage goblets that made the tablescape feel like a fairytale , to the actual masterpiece of a cake by , complete with her grandmother’s vintage pieces and that stunning berry topping. literal perfection.

and then… the gelato. not just any gelato, the GOAT gelato from goats in urbana il 🐐🍨 lovingly served by the amazing clarisa . and omg, the mocktails from ?! so fresh, so fun, so dang good. truly the perfect addition to any celebration. 10/10 recommend for your next event!

to our beautiful couple + models, sonja & mark, you two were everything. your sweetness, your love, your laughter… what a special way to celebrate your first married summer together 💛

to every vendor, guest, and soul who helped bring this shoot to lif, thank you for showing up so fully. your magic, your heart, your presence… was so felt 🤲🏼

“do you want to come over for a playdate tomorrow?”

scarlett, their oldest (who’s five), asked me as we were wrapping up our session… and my heart melted 🥹 one of the sweetest parts of this work is connecting with little ones and winning their hearts just as much as they win mine.

this session is in a new location i’m calling the enchanted forest and w o w, was it dreamy. tall trees, lush greens + grasses, and the quiet beauty of summer in the midwest. it was also hot and sooo humid, bless jillian and her sweet family for braving the midwest heat while visiting family here.

it’s such an honor when fellow photographers choose me to document their own families. jillian is a mama and new to the business too, it felt extra special to connect since we both started our journeys in march. beyond grateful for the way she trusted me to hold this space for her family anddd for capturing a few updated headshots for me (website coming soon) ✨
