Photographer friends... who's in?! 📸🤍

I had the BEST time meeting up with a new photographer friend last weekend. We grabbed some amazing ice cream, wandered around taking photos of each other, talked all things photography, and just had fun being on both sides of the camera. It was such a refreshing reminder of why I love this community.

It got me thinking... I'd love to plan a Photographer Fun Day in August before the busy fall season kicks off!

The idea is simple:
✨ Meet up with other photographers
✨ Take turns photographing each other
✨ Everyone edits their own photos
✨ No cost—just a fun afternoon to create, connect, and encourage one another.

✨ Allow Me to Introduce Myself ✨

Hi! I'm Elizabeth, the face behind Hall Acres Photography. 🤍

I'm usually the one behind the camera, so I figured it was time to step in front of it and say hello!

A few fun facts about me...

✨ In 2018, I traveled to Ireland and had the opportunity to work alongside one of the world's top ballroom dance photographers. I wasn't a photographer yet, but getting to watch her create was incredibly inspiring. Looking back, I think that's where the spark began.

✨ My husband completely surprised me by proposing in front of the Colosseum in Rome during what I thought was just a vacation photoshoot. Even our photographer had no idea it was coming! She captured every second, and those photos are a beautiful reminder of why preserving memories means so much to me.

Thank you for being here and supporting my little dream. It truly means the world to me.

Another great night at Sips & Sounds at Fremont Golf Club! 🎶☀️

There’s just something about live music, great food, friends, and a beautiful summer evening that makes these events so much fun to photograph. I love capturing all the little moments—the laughs, conversations, dancing, and memories being made.

Thank you to Fremont Golf Club for having me back. I always enjoy being part of these evenings and can't wait for the next one!

Some nights are just extra special. 🤍

We hosted my niece and nephew's rehearsal dinner here in our yard, and it couldn't have been a more perfect evening. It was such a joy to capture these memories while celebrating with all of their amazing family and friends.

I'm so excited to officially welcome a new niece into our family! 💕

One of my favorite full-circle moments from the weekend was seeing her dad, Bill, from Arnold Clark Photography. He was the photographer who took my senior pictures—and my siblings' senior pictures too. It was so fun getting to celebrate with him all these years later.

Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and beautiful memories together. 🤍

One of the things people may not know about me is that I’ve been teaching Cotillion to sixth graders for over a decade through Opera of Omaha. Every fall, I get to teach kids etiquette, integrity, confidence, social skills, and even ballroom dancing. It’s something I’m incredibly proud to be part of.

My oldest son went through the program when he was in sixth grade, and I can’t wait for my younger two to experience it someday. I truly hope it’s something I’ll be doing for many years to come.

Because Cotillion meets on Sunday evenings during golden hour, the same time I photograph many fall sessions…my fall calendar fills up quickly.

At 20, I started Omaha Ballroom and built it from the ground up. It was something I worked really hard for and was proud of. When COVID hit, I made the decision to close the studio—but it wasn’t just because of that. The hours, the lease, and running a business in a strip mall made it hard to be as present as I wanted to be for my son, and I knew I didn’t want that again.

I didn’t expect to find another business that would feel like such a good fit.

Then photography came into my life.

Now, as a fire wife and mom, this work has been such a blessing. It gives me the flexibility to work around my husband’s schedule, be there for my kids, and still do something I truly enjoy.

From mornings at the fire station to capturing families’ memories, this season looks different than I once imagined—but I’m really grateful for it.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted Hall Acres Photography. It truly means so much. ❤️

I had the honor of second shooting a wedding with Angie Jean Photography, and I truly can’t say enough good things about her. She’s an incredibly talented photographer, but even more than that, she’s just a genuinely kind person with the biggest heart.

Wedding days are so busy that there isn’t much time to capture behind-the-scenes videos, but I always try to sneak in a few clips for her and the bride. I love being able to show the little moments I see throughout the day and how she cares for her couples, makes everyone feel comfortable, and pours her heart into every wedding.

I’m so thankful for the opportunity to learn from her. I look up to her not only as a photographer, but as the kind of person I hope to be. ❤️
