The weather this past weekend was wild! Huge waves brought huge crowds to the beaches around Pt Mugu, Malibu, and Point Dume. It also brought dolphins having a blast jumping in and out of the surf!

Working on our drone skills! We were invited to catch some footage of the inaugural Scary Dairy XC Invite. It made us miss watching our son run XC meets!

Welcome to the world sweet Tatum! 💜 Big brother wasn't too interested in posing with his new little sis...he wanted to play blocks with me! But we got him to sit still for the last 5 minutes of our session. 🙃

Congratulations Velasquez Family!

Ventura was packed with surfers on Sunday, even with the morning overcast doing its best “June Gloom in August” impression. Didn’t matter one bit — boards were out, waves were rolling, and the whole coastline felt alive.

What a beautiful morning in Port Hueneme! It was so clear at the Hueneme Pier that you could see the lighthouse on Anacapa Island. A wonderful start to the weekend!

When Terry and I went to Hawaii last year, we came across The Painted Church, the oldest Catholic church on the island. We spent over an hour here looking at all the beautiful artwork inside the chapel and exploring the cemetery. It was raining and eerily quiet. This image earned a 1st place ribbon at the Ventura County Fair...rightfully so!

Over the last several months, Terry has discovered a gift for surf photography. Sometimes he comes out on Saturday mornings while I'm running to catch the early morning surfers. This epic photo earned him a 3rd place ribbon at the Ventura County Fair this year!

Terry decided to enter some of his recent images into the Ventura County Fair this year. It was SO hard to choose his best ones! Especially since we never know what the judges are looking for. This particular photo is one of my favorites...he just happened to be in the right place at the right time. And it earned an Honorable Mention! Stay tuned to see if he brought home any other ribbons this year... 😉

Maine is a beautiful state. It possesses a beautiful coastline dotted with many active lighthouses - something not commonly seen in California. The Portland Head Light in Cape Elizabeth, Maine was built in 1791 and still operates today. When I hear the word, "lighthouse," this is what I picture.

Just over a mile away perched on a jagged finger of a rock measuring only 1/4 mile long sits Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse. Surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean, the lighthouse warns mariners of the reef it rests on as it can deceptively hide just under the water's surface depending on the tide.

Visiting Liberty State Park, Jersey City during extreme heat/humidity with thunderstorms may not be the best way to view the New York City skyline, but for someone seeing it for the first time, it is still breath-taking.

Walking through the Empty Sky Memorial (which points towards Ground Zero and lists the names of New Jersey's 9/11 victims) was humbling. As one walks through it, the polished sides started with a slight golden tint that slowly opened up to a silver reflection of the skyscrapers beyond.

The last image is of the Liberation Monument, a WWII monument depicting an American soldier carrying a concentration camp survivor.

With the Statue of Liberty close by, it is no wonder why this place is called Liberty Park.
