Mother’s Day. A day of celebration, reflection, empowerment, and love.
What is a mother? She is more than blood or a creator. She is a guide, a book of wisdom, a fierce protector, strong, loving, and selfless.
Nothing has ever made me feel more powerful than motherhood. And let me explain, my power is not about controlling another human being, but guiding a little person through their own experiences.
My children are my children, but they are not mine in the sense that I own or keep them. They are their own people, and I belong to them just as much as they belong to me. I have created the path they walk on, I stand beside them knowing one day they will create their own path. I will support them in their journey no matter where that road may lead them. I will stand beside them and guide them through their thoughts, experiences, and trials. That feels powerful to me. I have the ability to help shape their creative minds, to hear their wishes, and help them find a path toward everything they hope to achieve.
Motherhood is not always picture perfect, but it is the most wonderful gift. Through all the messy moments and hardships, there are also moments of laughter, love, and light. The tight hugs, the tiny voices, the games, the dancing. When things become hard for me, I look into my babies eyes and watch their whole faces light up. What I mean to them, and what they mean to me, is a profound feeling one that could never be replaced or replicated.
Being a mother is the most beautiful adventure.
Today, I want to extend a hand to the weary mother. The tired mom. Motherhood can be incredibly hard at times. I see you, trying, showing up day after day, giving everything you have.
And your children see you too, mama.
When you are exhausted or struggling, remember this.. one day, when your children are grown, they will not remember your fatigue. They will remember your courage and strength. They will remember a mother who fought for them, showed up for them, and loved them with her whole heart.
Not everyone will experience today in the same way. For some, Mother’s Day is a quiet celebration filled with remembrance and grief. I see you too. I feel your loss.
Some mothers have passed through the veil. Some mothers have had their children walk the rainbow bridge.
Sadness is built upon a foundation of love. And love does not disappear. To those missing their mothers, and to the mothers missing their children, your love continues beyond this world. The bond between a mother and child is not ended by loss, distance, or time.
You still carry one another every single day.
In memories, in lessons, in laughter, in grief, in quiet moments, and in love they remain with you. That kind of love transcends boundaries, lifetimes, and universes.
Today, I celebrate your light, your strength, your love, and your courage.
To mothers from all avenues of life, thank you for all that you do, thank you for all that you are. Happy Mother’s Day.
