The universe has a way of surprising us with the greatest gifts when we least expect them.

This morning, the beach was simply magical—stunning colors painted the sky, and the air felt more like spring than early summer.

As I made my way down the shoreline, I noticed a turtle track ahead of me with no matching return path. To my surprise, this beautiful mama was still there, laying her eggs. She was a late-morning girl, returning to the sea long after sunrise.

In that moment, all of my worries seemed to drift away with the tide. Standing there, witnessing one of nature's quiet miracles, everything felt right in the world. 💙🐢

A slightly different perspective from my recent visit to McKee Botanical Garden.

The beautiful play of light on this glass sculpture immediately caught my eye, inspiring me to step away from my usual subjects and explore something more abstract. The reflections, repeating patterns, and elegant lines seemed to take on a life of their own in black and white.

A trip out to Blue Cypress Lake delivered plenty of action. Despite the heavy chop and a bumpy ride, pockets of calm water tucked between the cypress trees and hidden alcoves revealed the opportunity to catch a few images.

Many of the young birds were testing their wings while still staying close to mom and dad. Hunting behavior, territorial disputes, and flight practice were on full display throughout the morning. Blue Cypress Lake continues to be one of the best places to observe wildlife in action.

These tracks in the sand tell a story of determination, survival, and hope. With Florida experiencing a robust sea turtle nesting season so far, each journey between ocean and shore is a reminder of how important healthy beaches and thoughtful stewardship are to their success.

Simple actions—filling in holes, removing plastic and harmful debris from the beach, and reducing artificial light—can make a meaningful difference.

If I had to title this one, I’d call it “The Pounce.”

Watching this Reddish Egret in action instantly reminded me of a cat stalking its prey — wings spread wide, laser focused, and ready to strike. Nature always finds a way to surprise me with its grace, power, and personality. 🐦🌊
