A Great Southern White Butterfly collects some nectar before heading back home (wherever the wind may lead them)! You can note the blue antenna that is a staple characteristic of this species! This was a beautiful day at the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge that was enjoyed with the nature and wildlife!

A Eufala skipper or rice leaffolder drinks its share of nectar along the trail at the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge during a beautiful, sunny day! This little guy sure was hungry, skipping from flower to flower collecting ounces of nectar!

A group of Roseate Spoonbills enjoy sunbathing on the lake after finishing their free thirty course meals! It was a beautiful day to go birdwatching and watching these fellas is always a pleasure to see and makes you want to be a bird for a day! Flying, eating and enjoying the Florida weather? Walking along near the grassy bank of the lake at the Pelican Island NWR, There was a Green Heron a starin’ at me as it rested peacefully on a piece of what looked to be driftwood. It let me snap a few photos of him as I continued my trek onwards to another part of the area.

A quiet stroll in the Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, I stumbled across a side trail that I hadn’t explored yet. As I went along I came to a small lake where there were herons egrets and ibis all hanging out on a cool day. After a while this Roseate Spoonbill decided there was no more food where he was and went across the lake in search of more meals (until another one took flight and nearly landed right on top of him!)

The night progresses and with it I could still track the Neowise comet through the sky. It wasn’t as bright as other nights, but still enough to get a picture with my Nikkor 200mm-500mm zoom lens. It was really neat to see the green tint that the burning gases and atmosphere were creating!

As the sun set and the mosquitoes came out to play, the Neowise Comet came out to play, too! This shot was taken as the night went on, my eyes tracking it until it landed in the middle of my frame. It was amazing to see and one of my first ever pictures of a comet!
