Blue jays are smart. They will kick almost all the feed out of a feeder on the off chance they can find a sun flower seed to munch on. They also hog the pond water and will run off all the other birds just so they can have a quick dip! They do pose beautifully though, so I guess it's worth the mess!

I still have at least one hummingbird coming to my salvia. He seems to like the pink variety best.

I have always enjoyed being on the water as a child and as a teen. I don't get the chance as often now days, but I recently enjoyed an early morning on Matagorda Island in April. It's wild untouched beauty makes for great images.

Summer tanagers are beautiful birds, but they don't come to feeders for seed. They like insects, etc. this time of year. I was surprised to see one in my pecan tree and pleased that he/she decided to take a bath!

I think I have a female and an immature male bunting coming to the feeder and the water feature. I tried verifying through Merlin Bird ID and Mr. Google, but would welcome more experienced eyes than mine on these images for identification purposes.

Black and white images are an acquired taste for some. I really enjoy taking a mostly monochromatic image and converting it to black and white. These images were taken on a recent trip around central Texas hunting for bluebonnets. You never know what you'll come across !
