Contrary to popular belief, the horses don’t think twice about stepping into our mobile studio.

After photographing over 200 horses at many different horse shows we have only had 1 who was not cooperative in the tent.

Some of the best senior sessions don’t happen in a park or downtown, they happen in the places that already feel like home. For this Currituck, NC senior session we spent the evening on private family land surrounded by everything that tells his story.

The family hunting cabin.
The dock.
The pond.
The John boat.
And, of course, his dogs!

One of my favorite moments was when the dogs couldn’t resist jumping into the ditch at the start of the session. Those unplanned moments are often the ones that become the favorites because they’re real.

That’s exactly why I encourage my seniors to choose locations that mean something to them. Years from now these photos won’t just remind him of what he looked like as a senior, they’ll remind him of evenings spent hunting with family and making memories with the dogs that have been by his side.

Your senior session should look like your life, not someone else’s.
