Miracle In Lane 2 (2000)

This Disney Channel Original Movie was written by Joel Kauffmann & Donald C. Yost, directed by Greg Beeman, and stars Frankie Muniz.

Based on the true story of Justin Yoder, the movie follows Justin, a young boy with spina bifida, who dreams of winning a soapbox derby trophy. Against the odds, Justin becomes the first person with a physical disability to compete in the All American Soapbox Derby.

STILL TRIPPING THESE WERE REAL ANIMALS.

On set. With real people. On a kids show.

This wasn’t Wishbone or Eddie McDowd where they had a couple dogs here and there, they had lions, tigers, wolves, horses, hawks, ferrets, mice, lizards, roaches, bunnies, the list goes on 🫠

So, when people say the show was trash, I see the part where a group of really talented creatives tried to make a HIGH CONCEPT series, with a shoestring budget.

And yes, I still wanna pet the kitties 😂

Animorphs (1998–2000)

Live-action sci-fi series based on my favorite, bestselling book series by K. A. Applegate (Katherine Applegate & Michael Grant), developed for television by Deborah Forte.

The show follows a group of teens who get the ability to morph into animals while secretly fighting an alien invasion on Earth. With its darker tone and serialized storytelling, Animorphs stood out as a more mature kids series tackling themes like war, identity, morality, and sacrifice.

Now, the book series is dope! But the TV series is considered terrible by most fans. And I’m not most fans because I legit have a nostalgic love for this show 🤣

With a reboot in development under our boy, Coogler, the franchise has the opportunity for a more faithful interpretation. And I’m here it.

LIKE, WHAT’S TAKING SO LONG? 👀😂

This is one of those shows that got a kid with zero interest in sports to actually CARE about sports. It was me. I’m that kid.

It also made gymnastics cool for boys. You know how we were in the 90s. Boys weren’t allowed to wear tights without being made fun of 😂 so shout out to Blaine Wilson 🤸🏻‍♂️

RIP, Michael Galeota 🕊️🙏🏾

Thanks for the awesome childhood memories 🥹💜

The Jersey (1999–2004)

Based on the book series by Gordon Korman, this sports-fantasy series followed a group of friends who discover a magical jersey that transports them into the bodies of professional athletes. Insane, right?

Each episode blended sports action with lessons about teamwork, confidence, and responsibility in a way that was pretty cool!

A favorite among sports-loving kids (and non-sporting loving kids like me lol), the show featured appearances from dozens of real-life sports stars, making it feel like a time capsule of late-‘90s and early-2000s sports culture for a generation of Disney Channel lovers

AND THIS IS STILL ACCURATE 😮‍💨 WTF

I’ve always said The Secret World of Alex Mack was ahead of its time. And talk about a true VILLAIN.

Danielle Atron does not get her credit as one of the best 90s villains on TV. She was about to MURDER Alex and her parents 😳 BRUH frfr 😆

RIP 🕊️ LOUAN GIDEON (1955–2014) 🕊️ You played the HECK outta that character 🙏🏾

The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994–1998)

Created by Thomas W. Lynch & Ken Lipman, this sci-fi teen series follows Alex, an ordinary girl who gains mysterious powers after a chemical accident, navigating high school while hiding her abilities from a powerful corporation. Blending coming-of-age storytelling with light sci-fi, it became a defining Nick show of the ’90s.

A fan favorite for its relatable lead and grounded tone, the series stood out for centering a smart, awkward teen girl in a genre space.

Fun fact: Alex’s signature ability to morph into liquid became one of the show’s most iconic (and ahead-of-its-time) visual effects.
