I love photographing vistas, but there just something more special about them in the fall. The colors are more dynamic and the light always seems softer; especially on slightly foggy days like this one.

Spooky season is upon us 🕸
Although, come to think of it, when a spiderweb is coated with dew drops from the rolling fog, most of the fear relative to the web disappears

Tree of Life in Fall
Happy Indigenous Peoples' Day!
We have so much to learn about the planet through the knowledge of the Indigenous peoples who have lived on this land for far longer than anyone else.
To quote Winona LaDuke; "There is a direct relationship between the loss of cultural diversity and the loss of biodiversity. Wherever Indigenous People still remain, there is also a corresponding enclave of biodiversity."

River of fog from the Compton Peak overlook
3:34 woke up
4:10 Got in the car
5:50ish parked the car and started hiking. It was pitch dark, and we heard some wierd noises, but it was great!
6:20 arrived at outlook while it was still dark, the view looked very different, I almost didn't recognize it.
6:20-7:20 watched the sun light up the sky, revealing this beautiful river of fog down below
7:20 stared hiking back down, and realized all of the wierd, spooky sounds from the way up were creaking trees!!

A town under the mountains
This photo, believe it or not, was taken in the middle of the day. I loved the composition, but I just couldn't find a way to make the rest of it look good.
I'd gotten a bit lazy with my editing, becoming too dependant on my presets. However, with this photo, I needed up restarting the edit and working from scratch.
By playing around with local adjustments and color, I was able to get to this edit, which more so resembles the transition from blue hour to golden hour.

Wild spaces are often the best places
The Mustang region of Nepal has some of the most beautiful landscapes. From the glacial streams to the towering himalayas, from these thorny shrubs to beautiful evergreens. I hope I can go back someday

In early August, I decided that I would post every Monday and Thursday; well, that lasted maybe 2 weeks.
Mondays just seemed to get away from me. Right around the same time uni started back up for me. This was probably because I tend to procrastinate til Sunday night, and end up working all of Monday...
Anywaus, I'm trying to change that, so, with no further a due...drum roll please...A Monday Post!!!!
Also, sidenote, I really miss the mountains

Woman crossing a dried out riverbed in the Annapurna region of the Himalayas
The Himalayas have been quite impacted by climate change. This was taken in the winter, so the river is a bit more dried out than in summer months because less snow is melting off the peaks.
However, Marpha in particular, has gotten warmer and river as a result of climate change. Where it was once too cold, Marpha has now become a large apple and apple products producer (the fruit, not the company).
Some people may view this as a good thing; the people here got a new source of income, but the thing about climate change is it doesn't stop when in becomes convenient to humans.
Climate change may be a good thing for humans here now, but in another few years life could become worse. Not to mention the wildlife, ecosystems, and biodiversity that were once here that depends on a world without climate change.
