Most parents walk into photos thinking the same three things:
-Are the kids going to behave
-Do we look okay
-Is this going to be worth it
And I get it.
Because the pressure around family photos is real.
But here’s what’s true, and almost no one realizes it in the moment:
The things you’re worried about
are not the things you’ll love later.
You won’t care that a shirt wrinkled.
You won’t care who looked at the camera.
You won’t care that your toddler insisted on having a matchbox car in his hands.
You’ll see how they wrapped their arms around your neck.
How you pulled them close without thinking.
How small they looked against you.
You’ll see the relationship.
That’s what lasts.
That’s what quietly wrecks you years later in the best way.
So no, it isn’t perfect photos.
It’s making enough space for you to be yourselves together so that your real connection has somewhere to show up.
