Turns out, the cake tastes just as good as it looks!

For this sweet girl’s first-birthday portraits, we revisited the same shades of rose, mauve, and cream that we used for her newborn session. The custom balloons, delicate florals, and oversized bow brought this dreamy set to life.

One backdrop, so many looks.

I love showing how much variety we can create with one simple backdrop. By changing the styling, props, and composition, each image feels different while still complementing the others beautifully—creating a cohesive album page that flows together.

Greenery, soft hearts, balloons, or a favorite stuffed animal—small changes can create completely different looks.

Sage has become one of my favorite colors! It’s incredibly versatile, and has such a timeless, classic feel.

There’s something about these soft, muted tones that makes everything feel effortlessly beautiful—and I love how they photograph together.

Every detail of a newborn session is chosen with the final gallery in mind. One of my favorite parts of designing each newborn session is creating completely different sets—each with its own color palette, textures, layers, and little details.

For this session, we went with soft cream, oatmeal, and sage tones, keeping everything neutral and timeless while still giving each set its own look.

From the very beginning, I’m thinking about how all of the images will look together. I want the finished gallery to have enough variety that you can choose your favorites for an album, or pull several images together to create a beautiful gallery wall.

It’s all part of the planning that goes into creating a gallery that feels cohesive, without every image looking the same. 🤍
