Some sessions stay with you long after you put the camera away… and this was definitely one of those. ❤️🇺🇸
I had the honor of photographing a very special family while their son, who serves in the United States Air Force, was home for a short TWO WEEKS.
From the moment his mom and I started talking, there was just an understanding between us. Her boy wears the uniform, and so does mine. Hers serves in the Air Force, and my son serves in the Army. Different branches, but the heart of a military mom understands the same things—the pride, the worry, the prayers, the countdowns, the goodbyes, and just how precious every single day at home becomes.
That connection created such a special bond between us, and it made this session mean so much more to me.
And let me tell you… we had SO MUCH FUN! 😂❤️ There was laughter, joking around, family moments, and those little in-between memories that I hope they will look back on years from now and remember exactly how it felt to have everyone together again.
When you only get your child home for a short time, you realize that photographs aren’t just photographs. They’re pieces of time you get to keep.
As a photographer, I was honored that she trusted me with those memories.
But as a military mom, I understood just how priceless they were.
I pray God continues to watch over both of our boys wherever their service takes them, protects every military son and daughter serving away from home, and gives strength to every mama waiting for the next homecoming. 🙏🇺🇸
Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of your family’s TWO precious weeks together. This session touched my heart in a way I don’t think I’ll ever forget.
From one military mama to another… I see you. I understand. And I am so thankful our boys’ service brought our paths together. ❤️
