Great Horned Owl baby season starts just as the Short Eared owls start heading north. Mom and Dad had 2 healthy young ones this year. Only could find one of the babies and mom when I got these pictures. These are from when they just started exploring out of the nest.

Short Eared Owls are headed north to breeding grounds. A favorite winter visitor of mine here in Pennsylvania.

Grey phase and Red phase Screech owls. One of the smaller owls I see here in PA. You can actually build an owl box and you might have one of these owl's take resident in it. Make sure when you hang it you face the entrance south.

Last week I was informed that my brother, from another mother, dad wasn't doing so well. This man was a loving father, faithful husband, hard worker and a loved grandfather. This man... was a Vietnam War Vet. Never once did Larry or Mom Bryson not treat me like their own son. Many Many stores that man had to tell. Thank you for your service! This one's for you Mr. Larry Bryson! You'll be missed very much!

Thursday's solar storm was indeed insane. AS SOON as it got dark the sky was a solid pink/purple color. The lights come in waves so don't ever expect to see them at there peak for hours on end. First peak was around 7:30pm.... then 10pm.. then 1pm. I didn't stay up for the last show. The 10pm show I can't really explain other than JAW DROPPING!
