Think you have what it takes to own the darkness? Dax Roberts Photography is launching the Halloween After Dark Photography Contest, and one person is walking away with a FREE 2-HOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION OF THEIR CHOICE! 🏆🔥

👻 HALLOWEEN MINI SESSIONS
📸 20–30 minutes
💀 $50 — Individual
🖤 $100 — Two People

Go creepy. Go glamorous. Go terrifying. Go gothic. Go completely over the top. Costumes, makeup, characters and original ideas are encouraged!

Each participant will receive an edited gallery from their session, and one official image will enter the Halloween After Dark competition.

There’s a certain kind of beauty that only exists in the darkness.

Where shadows swallow the edges, light finds exactly what it was meant to reveal. Where mystery meets vulnerability. Where softness refuses to disappear.

These image was about capturing that exact moment, when darkness and beauty collide.

Not fighting against each other, but becoming something more powerful together.

Dark. Delicate. Haunting. Beautiful.

There’s something powerful about a portrait that doesn’t need to be bright to demand attention.

The shadows. The grain. The subtle light catching her face. The expression that makes you wonder what she’s thinking.

This is exactly why I love creating darker, moodier portraits. It’s not about making everything perfectly lit, it’s about using the darkness to tell part of the story.

Sometimes the shadows say more than the light ever could. 🖤

Sometimes the view out the window reminds you…

…that life is bigger than the problems you’ve been carrying.

That there are places you’ve never been, moments you haven’t lived yet, and peace waiting on the other side of the storms you’ve survived.

Sometimes all it takes is one quiet view to remember how far you’ve come—and how much beauty still lies ahead.

Today, I paused long enough to appreciate this one.

Never stop looking out the window. You never know when the view will remind you that hope, perspective, and gratitude have been there all along.
