Storm Intercept Team A group of local Storm Chasers based out of Waxhaw NC

Our goal is help to provide early warning and educate the public about severe weather.

Storm Intercept Team consists of 2 meteorologists and 1 photographer/videographer. Additional guests may be invited along on trips. Currently, we have 3 Chasing vehicles in the fleet. Recon 1 is a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder, and it is the primary vehicle. It consists of many various high tech weather equipment suitable for storm chasing. Recon 2 is a Mazda 6 sedan, and is good for quick chases, and is

a very suitable backup to Recon 1. Recon 3 is a solid storm spotting field chaser. Recon 3 is a Suzuki Forenza, and it is primarily used for local chases. Recon 3 will be getting some meteorology equipment on further sponsorship.
