These are some of my absolute favorite shots I took while second shooting for .creative earlier this year. 🥹 Candids are my favorite, and as a second photographer, a majority of the time your goal is to get not only different angles from the lead shooter, but to also catch the moments in between while your lead is doing their thing! And a fun fact : I’ve been second shooting for .creative for 10 years now, oh how time has flown! 🤍

Be yourself, and all of your clients will become your dream clients. 🤍 Here’s a better breakdown of what I mean : My dream clients are the ones who look for connection, authenticity, and have a love for my art. It has nothing to do with wealth, beauty standards, or anything superficial. The people that I can connect with, make jokes with, be creative with, laugh and cry with, THAT is the definition of a ‘Dream Client’. Hearing the words “we spoke to multiple photographers, and we connected the strongest with you” is the ultimate goal at the end of the day.

I’ve noticed a huge influx in beginning photographers in my area, and I am imagine it’s the same in other places. If you’re just beginning and took the time to read this, this last piece of advice is just for you! Whatever you do, Just. Be. Your. Self. Hone in on your craft, really LEARN about your camera and your editing style, and DON’T just follow trends because you think it’s what you’re supposed to do. Let YOU shine through your work and connections, the rest will follow. 🤍

I had the pleasure of second shooting for last month, and I am so grateful for her letting me play around with some of the shots I took. 🥹 Second shooting is genuinely so fun for many reasons!
- You have a co-worker to chat with and bounce ideas off of!
- The second shooter captures the candid moments while the lead shooter works their magic ✨
- The client will receive multiple angles of key moments
- And it’s definitely an opportunity to learn from other incredible photographers in the moment! (There’s always room for growth 🤍)

This one is for the ladies! ✨ Getting ready photos are not necessarily a need, but they’re often a hidden treasure that can be incredibly sentimental to look back upon. The morning of a wedding is filled with emotion, anticipation, laughter, quiet moments, and the people closest to you, all in one place. These portraits can capture the excitement before the ‘I-Do’s’, the meaningful details carefully curated months or even years in advance, and the genuine interactions that happen naturally while everyone prepares for the day ahead.
Long after the wedding is over, your getting ready portraits become more than a snapshot of your favorite day. They become physical memories of how the day felt. From mom buttoning your dress, to bridesmaids wiping your tears and hyping you up, or sharing a special moment with your child, these moments captured tell the beginning of your wedding story. While they may not seem essential, they often become some of the most personal and nostalgic photographs to look back upon. 🤍
