Who doesn’t love a tower ladder?

And Tower Ladder 13 with the Philadelphia Fire Department is no exception! Before TL13 made its appearance at the The Cuckoo’s Nest E68 L13 B7 M3 , the were lucky enough to see it at the annual Fireman’s Convention in Wildwood. A year later, we visited the crew at E68/L13 in West Philly, where we got to see it in action. This full circle moment was truly special for us, to see this rig when it was brand new, and then see it stationed in the neighborhood it serves. Check it out!

Have you met our friend, Kyle Schwarber?

You might know him as the author of the “Schwarbomb,” a term used for when he launches the baseball, deep in right center field. He is a Philly all-star, and a piece of Philadelphia history that gets the stadium rocking, in a consistently “must see” at bat!

Did you also know that he is from a family of first responders? His father is a retired police chief, his mother was a dispatcher, and his sister is a police officer. It’s through years of watching this kind of dedication and sacrifice, that inspired Kyle Schwarber to start an organization dedicated to caring for, and recognizing, our local first responder and military families.

That organization, is known as Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes.

For years, Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes has provided opportunities for local first responder families, and raised funds that have been sent to various local organizations. Every year, Kyle visits first responders in their communities, whether at their firehouse or police station, and takes the time to genuinely get to know them, and the areas they serve.

As ambassadors to Schwarber’s Neighborhood Heroes, the are proud to partner with Kyle, to make sure that our local heroes are recognized and cared for, by those that rely on them, and there are multiple ways for you to get involved!

Whether you’re a fan of the Phillies, baseball, or care about the ones that show up, you can help us to make a difference! You could join the Schwarbomb Squad, participate in various auctions throughout the year, join them for their annual block party, or simply make a donation.

The goal here is to care about those, that care about us.

If it’s not obvious already, we can tell you that from two years of knowing Kyle Schwarber, it is clear that he is one of us. He is as real, and as passionate as they come. We have personally joined him in eating lunch with firefighters one minute, and hours later lighting up the ballpark. We’ve seen him driving a firetruck, then driving the ball into the second deck.

So our message is simple:
Be inspired, take action, and be a force for good!
