May 22nd 2026: Last Day of Junior Year (11th Grade).

Soh’s school got over early and he was home for lunch.

Lunch: Chicken wrap and Lunch Special that included Chicken Biriyani and two more things that I cannot remember - from Hocco - The Indian Kitchen!

July 26th 2026 - That feeling of having the option of going out to have a cup of tea over adda/catching up!

Last week, between marching band camp and my work - Soh and I barely got a chance to talk! He would be sleeping when I left for work at 7a, and I would be dozing off to sleep when he came home around 9:30p.

We talked about the glorious results of the ongoing protests in India - the Gen-Z protests, and the unique ways they showed up in peace and revelry. Their sufferings and shenanigans. And how they proved the naysayers wrong!!

A few weeks ago, we had a lengthy discussion with someone close to us who has unfortunately become a blind follower of the ruling party in India. We tried to open their eyes to the blatant censorship of the media, the sheer privilege that allows them to support such a regime, and the dangerous realities of rising fascism.

Their arguments relied heavily on deflection and whataboutism, closely mirroring the corporate media narratives pushed by their billionaire owners. The rhetoric was strikingly similar to the standard MAGA talking points used in the US.

8th July 2026: Soh baked a cookie bar last night (pic 4 is from yesterday). And I enjoyed a slice of it with my (very late) evening cups of tea!! It was absolutely scrumptious!!

I rushed out of work at 4p to go with Soh to his piano class, with plans of working while he was at class! But the laptop had died in the one hour that it took me to get home and then to piano! 😳

Post piano, we went to his school to hear his bassoon teacher perform! This room (pic 5) was also where one of his 11th grade classes were held at!

Once I had had the chance to catch up on ‘current affairs’, I rage cleaned the kitchen and scrubbed off the finish on the microwave in the process!!

It was one heartbreaking and/or rage inducing news after the other.

4th July 2026: Brunch (since Soh slept till 11, Sankho went to play soccer and I chose to eat lyad (laze around): Almond Croissants and scrambled eggs with chorizo and pepper jack cheese.

USA is celebrating its semiquincentennial (250th) anniversary today.

Yes, I had to google what 250th is called.
