First Senior Session of the year!

What I love most about Senior photos:
It starts off slow.
Most of the seniors are timid and nervous in front of the camera, or feel silly when I tell them their "pose/prompt".
The first 15 minutes I always consider our "Warm up" time. I don't expect to get my "Oh my gosh" photos during this time frame.

As we move on, I demonstrate the poses and the prompts I use to create movement, I show them first so they seem me doing it, and I explain that out of the 15-20 pictures I am about to take, only 1-2 is what I am looking for. The others WILL be silly looking (eyes closed, messy hair in face, etc...) But I want that movement, and I want that natural smile you are about to show me.

And here is where my favorite part comes in... I show them the photos I just took and they finally see "it".
They see what I see. What the world sees.
They see their natural beauty in a way that they never saw themselves before.
They see themselves naturally laughing.
Naturally smiling.
Naturally and absolutely Beautiful.

When the only time you see yourself is while standing in front of a mirror, or in a picture someone took... It's hard to see how beautiful we are to others in our everyday life.

Happy is beautiful. Kindness is beautiful. Joy is beautiful.
YOU are beautiful.
