Zizzers Boys Swim Team season ended mid-November, and I’m not excited about it tbh.
Two seniors pretty close to my heart are graduating this year.
Bryson Kittrell, the very first swimmer to talk to me and try to get to know me, even before I was hired as a teacher at West Plains. We talked a little at practice the summer I worked at the pool when I was still in college in 2022, the summer before his freshman year. Probably one of the nicest and most dedicated people I know.
Caleb Kentner, my diver since his sophomore year when the dive team was first formed. Going to State all three years, each year getting better. Going from working together at the pool, to being his teacher, and his coach, I’ve seen him in multiple different settings. But one setting I’m very grateful for, is seeing him as a friend. Both of these boys.
Next year we’ll have four seniors, and one junior. Hopefully more swimmers and divers as well.
Coaching is one of the greatest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the hardest, just because of the goodbyes every year, and this one is definitely one of the hardest.
Bryson and Caleb, I can’t wait to see where life takes you both, and don’t be afraid to reach out and brag about your accomplishments, because I look forward to hearing about each and every single one of them!
