See yourself out.

Still more from a highly reflective morning at Adamsville Landing. Taking a hard look at yourself is important once in awhile. Life throws things at us that can bring us down or lift us up. The way we handle and view our circumstances at times requires a reset which has to come from within. Sitting and thinking in natural settings can help us reorganize too.

Sour grapes.

Photography and digital creation go hand in hand these days. There are still some purists left who have the knowledge and camera expertise to capture beautiful images in more simplistic ways with less sophisticated techniques and equipment than most including myself use today. Being self taught and using a DSLR camera which has built in tricks to change the look of an image, you then have post production where you can ‘play’ with an image even further to make it more appealing. I try to not over edit or ‘beat up’ my pictures, this one in particular needed some help to achieve a useable image, and I’m not even super happy with it…I still only use my basic photo editing app on my Mac for landscape and wildlife photos. However the vineyard was looking pretty one morning recently so I decided to share.

Look away.

People will tell you it’s important to look at both sides of a story. This same idea can be applied to many things including photography. Monday morning the big show at Hix Bridge were the colors of dawn still lingering on the river. Yet I knew it was worth a walk over to the opposite side to see what was happening. In contrast to the bright oranges and pinks, the river and sky over the bridge were subtly lined with cooler colors creating a completely different feel within a very short distance.

There were so many photos to go through from one short visit to Adamsville Landing the other day. A day like that one produce too many options which is a great problem to have. This particular image stood out because of the way the sunlight was hitting the marsh and river. Definitely not done with sharing this series.

Warm welcome.

Imagine if the sky could look like this all day? The moods emitted by colors play with the mind and can create feelings in us all on their own. Yesterday morning I experienced the end of the deeper hues of orange, pink, and purple that were giving way to lighter pastel tones. Seeing these changes happen in person is a life altering experience to begin the day. Getting to hold onto them in pictures allows you remember the feeling. Another from Hix Bridge Landing.

Over and out.

I may have missed a part of today’s spectacular morning, but I was determined not to miss it all. Deciding to drive to Adamsville Landing after stopping briefly at Hix Bridge, the hope was to see some good reflections. Clearly if you saw my reel earlier I was no doubt rewarded with an array of sights and perspectives at this relatively small, yet fortuitous, spot. On this final day of August, we were gifted a gem of a day, the only downside was noticing no osprey. Looks like they may have begun their migration south.

Good morning followers!!
I have decided on the theme for the 2027 calendar...can’t believe it’s time to get it organized! The photos will be my favorite beach shots of our coastline over the past few years.
‘Beauty and the Beach’ will be a testament to our beautiful shores in Westport.
