Most people who follow me probably don’t know how my photography career really got started.
I’ve had a camera in my hand since my parents bought me one for my 13th birthday. I remember going to Best Buy with my dad and scouting out what made the most sense.
From that moment on, I became the friend who was always taking photos. Setting up a camera on a rock at the beach and using my best friends as my subjects, because obviously everyone needed the cutest MySpace photo (yup, I’m that old).
What started as a hobby turned into a passion, which eventually turned into a full-blown career when I got my first professional photography job with Sharpshooter Imaging.
My professional career really started back in 2013, when I moved to Utah for a job I applied for online. Shortly after leaving my job as an event coordinator, I packed up, moved across the country, and came to Utah with a dream.
I spent four seasons on the mountain, split between Park City and Snowmass. Some of those winters (and one summer) were some of the most exhausting, yet most fun years I’ve ever had. They were filled with a lot of learning, a lot of laughing, and a few sprained ankles along the way.
I got to photograph action and portraits of couples, families, and even moe. on the mountain, along with professional athletes at Dewtour
I owe so much of what I know about photography to those four years and the people I worked alongside—many of whom became lifelong friends and mentors. But more than anything, I think that job taught me what I know about people. How to connect with them, make them comfortable, and capture them as they really are.
Very thankful for the journey that got me to where I am today. 🫶🏼📸
