Another tip of the day: Video project timeline FPS is not the same as a clip FPS. Most hybrid cameras that shoot video don't let you separate those settings. On my Canon R6 II, when I shoot 60fps, that project timeline framerate is 60fps and the clip is 60fps. A true cinema camera will let you choose, let's say, a 24fps timeline with a 48fps clip framerate. This means it will record the clip as a slowmotion playback clip on a 24fps timeline in 1/2 speed.

If I record 50fps on on my Canon R6 II and put in on a 24fps timeline (maybe I'm mixing it with other video on a 24 fps timeline), and try to slow the footage by 50%, that's going to give me 25fps. So 1 frame every second is thrown away to fit on the 24 fps timeline causing the footage to look choppy.

I try my best to shoot with an intended frame rate. If I don't plan on using slow motion, I'll record at 24fps. If I do need slow motion, I'll change my camera settings to record on a 24fps timeline with with a variable fps clip speed that is divisible evenly on a 24 fps timeline (either 48 fps, 72fps, 96fps). If only 50, 75, 100 variable fps options are available on the camera, I would consider setting the project frame rate to 25 fps, so that the math divides evenly (no dropped frames).

I don't understand why a person would pay for 4k resolution, I go through the storage and processing for 4k, but client uploads in 1080. Why?

Edit: Here's tests done by Filmtools in 2021. https://www.provideocoalition.com/uploading-to-youtube-is-4k-worth-it/ I might perform my own 2026 tests to see if Youtube blesses 4k with its better compression ratios.
