College football is a whole different animal compared to 4A high school football.

My first Southwestern College Football game did not disappoint.

The game is faster. The athletes are bigger, stronger, and quicker. There are more officials, less room to work on the sidelines, and a whole lot more happening around you.

Everything is bigger. Everything moves faster. And as a photographer, you have a lot less time to react.

I've spent years shooting high school football, but stepping onto the sidelines of a college game is a completely different experience. It's challenging, it's an adjustment, and it's exactly the kind of thing that makes me want to keep getting better.

And every once in a while, you catch a moment like this.

MY FAVORITE SEASON OF THE YEAR IS ALMOST HERE!

Basketball was, is, and always will be my favorite sport. Nothing else really comes close.

There's an intensity to college basketball that's hard to put into words. The physicality, the pace, the atmosphere, the battles under the basket. Every possession matters, momentum can change in seconds, and nobody gives an inch without a fight.

It's everything I love about sports.

This will be my second season photographing Southwestern College Men's Basketball, and I'm looking forward to another year on that purple and black baseline.

Today I had the opportunity to help out with their media day for the first time. Pretty cool experience getting to be a small part of the process and capture some of these guys before the season gets underway.

Anthony Jelinek | Mulvane Senior 2027

There's just something about Kansas.

The open pastures. The country roads. The farm equipment. The trucks. The kind of places where hard work and hometown roots are part of everyday life.

We took a little different approach to senior pictures with Anthony, and honestly, we loved every minute of it.

No fancy locations. No elaborate setups. Just a beautiful Kansas evening, a little country scenery, and a senior session that felt genuine.

Because that's what senior pictures should be about. Capturing who you are, where you come from, and the things that make your story yours.

This one just felt like Kansas.

Caleb Holle | Mulvane Senior 2027

I've known Caleb since he was just a little ole 7th grader on the first middle school track team I coached. Since then, I've had the chance to photograph him quite a few times over the years, especially on the football field and wrestling mat.

Now he's a senior, and I had the privledge to get him in front of the camera for something other than sports!

A big thank you to the Holle family for trusting me with Caleb's senior pictures! I really appreciate the opportunity to capture this milestone for your family. Wishing Caleb a great senior year and all the best in whatever comes next!

There’s something about this picture that feels bigger than football.

The pocket is starting to collapse.

A defender is fighting through. His teammate is doing everything he can to give him another second.

And the quarterback is still looking downfield.

Still trusting.
Still waiting.
Still willing to let it go.

That’s faith, in a way.

Not the easy kind.

The kind that exists when there’s pressure in your face and you don’t know how the play is going to end.

The kind that says somebody beside you is fighting to hold the line, so you’d better be ready to do something with the time they’re giving you.

Life feels like that sometimes.

You rarely get a wide-open field.

You get pressure.
You get noise.
You get people coming at you from directions you didn’t expect.
You get a few seconds to decide whether fear is going to make the decision for you.

And somewhere beyond all of it is where you’re trying to go.

You might not see the ending yet.

You still have to throw.

Not every pass gets caught.
Not every season ends the way you wanted.
Not every prayer is answered the way you expected.
And sometimes you do everything right and still take the hit.

Faith was never a promise that there wouldn’t be pressure.

It was trusting God enough to keep moving through it.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

So plant your feet.

Trust the people holding the line beside you.

Keep your eyes downfield.

And when the moment comes -

LET IT FLY.
