Knox’s senior session took us from downtown Medora to Bully Pulpit Golf Course, and this one was definitely worth the drive.

We had plenty of time to explore one of the coolest places I’ve ever photographed.

Over the Fourth of July weekend, I got to photograph some friends of mine, and this one had a little bit of everything.

A family farm. A huge old red barn. Matching patriotic shirts. A little dance party. And a rainstorm we barely beat.

We started at John’s family farm, where the old house their grandparents once lived in is still standing. And now, three generations were back on that same ground together.

Joanne and Duane with their daughters, Chris and Angela. Chris and Rod with Kia and Kiera, who gave us plenty of laughs and even a little dance party. Angela and her husband John, walking hand in hand and laughing together. And Joanne with her brother John, back at a place that holds so much of their family history.

And because this crew is full of huge NDSU fans, they already know how to bring some serious team spirit.

We finished at Metigoshe Lutheran Church with Lake Metigoshe behind us. Then, during the exact time we were originally supposed to be taking pictures, it poured.

Thank goodness we started early.

Because by then, we already had what mattered.

Happy Birthday to my favorite travel buddy, behind-the-scenes helper, grandma, and best friend all wrapped into one. ❤️

The older I get, the more I realize how lucky I am that you’re not just my mom… you’re one of my favorite people to do life with.

I honestly don’t know what I’d do without you. Whether we’re scouting photo locations, chasing sunsets, grabbing a Diet Coke, wrangling kids, or laughing until we cry, life is just better when you’re with me.

Thank you for always saying yes to the adventures, believing in my crazy ideas before anyone else, helping me chase this dream, and loving your grandkids with your whole heart. So many of my favorite memories have you in them, and I can’t wait to make a thousand more.

I hope this year brings you as much joy as you’ve given all of us. You deserve to be celebrated today and every day.
