NCMurnyackArtist My Altered Reality compositions consist of, on average, 8-15 photographs. All photos used are my own. These revisions can take days, weeks or even years.

"I’m an artist of Nature & Time who helps people who are struggling with the stress of today’s angry world to achieve calm in the storm, focusing on a source of healing for the body and renewal for the soul." Since I was educated as a visual artist in a classical manner, I have a traditional way of working. I start my process by first dreaming up the idea and sketching it on drawing paper. This dr

awing may go through many variations until I get the composition and mood I’m trying to achieve. I put it aside and then get it back out to rework it…never going for the quick solution. The rest is created on the computer. Each Altered Reality composition is the product of a pure love for art and an outrageous amount of hours.

When the grass is this green... no one raises a head!
Days like this, the entire herd comes in at the end of the day totally exhausted from eating. All they want to do is nap.

My two entries in the May exhibit at Stella's Art Gallery in Willoughby, Ohio were well received. I had the opportunity to talk to a number of guests about my process and the significance of the images I used for both these compositions.

Also want to thank Andie, Jim, Mark and Angie for stopping in for the opening reception. It's always wonderful to have the support of friends!

I have two artworks at Stella's Art Gallery in Willoughby, OH.

The exhibit is called "Size Matters" and every artwork in this show is 8x10"... a perfect time to get a great picture in a small size.

The first picture is called "Power" featuring a team of draft horses pulling a heavy load. This team was performing at the Geauga County Fair when I took their photo.
The second picture is called "Hierarchy", a delightful scene of animals stacked on top of each other. It took numerous photos to put this composition together.

After a beautiful ride on the equine trails with friends, we went back out on the trails on foot. My friend, Cindy, lost her phone during our ride. It was still a great day, since we found the phone ...until I came home and found a tick already stuck to my neck! Stripped down to nothing, turned everything inside out and shook out my clothes. Found a second tick crawling out of my jeans! Now I'm itching all over. 😟

Lake Erie College in Painesville, Ohio
Went to view a Women Artists exhibit that was curated by Mary Urbas. She was there to talk about the show and give a special tour to the GANG members. (Geauga Artists Network Group) of which I belong. I believe the show will be up all month. Beautiful exhibit! Pictured are a few of my favorites.

Who's watched a night launch at Cape Canaveral?
This one we saw the night before our cruise began. The first night launch we watched was when my boys were something like 3 and 5 years old. They are now in their forties!
It is something fun to witness in person. Never gets old.

Day 3 of a 7-day cruise to the Caribbean...
The warm weather and fantastic views did not disappoint. However, on day three, I decided it would be a great idea to jump into the onboard pool before sunbathing.
Did you know that the pools onboard of cruise ships are seawater? I didn't.

As I took a huge leap, the saltwater filled my nostrils and headed directly to my lungs as I hit the water. I got out quickly enough, gaging and coughing, proving to myself that a nearly 74-year-old woman should not be acting like a teenager. The worst part... the rest of the cruise was me throwing up, coughing my lungs out, and running a temperature as high as 103 F.

A similar thing happened to me when I was snorkeling in the country of Panama back in the early 90's. I had inhaled seawater with the same results. For the next six years I had pneumonia three times. At year seven I finally coughed up some horrible black goo. That solved the problem of frequent pneumonia but freaked me out.
Hoping this time around ends better than the first.
