Musical Duo,Barb & I, had a blast kicking off SummerFest 2026 with a cover of Johnny Cash’s classic Folsom Prison Blues! Thank you to everyone who came out and enjoyed a beautiful evening of music, community, and fun.

📢❣️Health update:
Good morning everyone! I have been trying to keep everyone posted with how things are going and be transparent and I think a post here should cover everyone else who has been asking about me that I might have missed.
🙏First off, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers as I prepare for surgery!
It’s been a lot of waiting and not knowing and is mentally stressful!

I chose to go for a 3rd opinion after my last annual follow up at endocrinology in November because I wasn’t feeling confident with the plan and the future if the doctors keep monitoring my goiters. I decided to go to OSU to see an endocrinologist and she seemed to feel the same as the doctors I had seen locally since 2023 and so I expected the same plan and results. The endocrinologist at OSU was empathetic about my concerns and said she would do an ultrasound and was willing to biopsy 2 goiters that day. The largest goiter on my left side had been biopsied in the past and had a negative result for cancer this time as well . The one that was smaller on my right side had never been biopsied before and didn’t seem concerning when ultrasound has been done many times, but came back suspicious after my biopsy and was sent for molecular analysis.

I have multiple thyroid goiters in my neck and the molecular analysis shows a 75% chance that it’s cancer. So, to know for sure, I have to have my thyroid and left and right lobes removed and a pathology will be done to see what the next steps are. I should have the pathology report by the second week of March to go over my results and care plan.

I completed my pre-operative exam and testing Thursday at OSU. I am scheduled to have surgery 2/19/26 at The James Cancer Hospital at OSU for a total Thyroidectomy.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Having a cancer scare is not something I ever expected and it’s hard to compartmentalize some times and can be very overwhelming. I am strong and will fight every step of the way to advocate for myself and others to ensure my concerns are known and how I feel about this process. If anyone you know has these issues, push for biopsies if your able and don’t just settle for an ultrasound and be told that it’s fine and normal and that it won’t become a concern because the biopsies are much more accurate than an ultrasound.
My hope is to be back in full swing with my business by spring, stay tuned!
