This beautiful little cardinal hung out with us for about a half hour to help us celebrate the 4th of July! His head crest was down, which means he was totally chill'n. When cardinals and BluJays are relaxed, their crests lay flat, but when they're on alert or excited, their head plume comes out. All of these shots are the same little guy!
