I wanted to show off something special for this week: my photo collage of the B-17 Memphis Belle.

The top two photos are from an air show I went to as a little kid, where the Belle was on traveling static display. The bottom two photos are from my first visit to the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. These photos were taken roughly 25 years apart, and it is so nice to see the Belle in a permanent home 🤩

For I'm shouting out another personal favorite of mine - the Douglas A-20 Havoc. Also known as the Boston, the Havoc was a versatile light bomber frequently used for night missions. My great-uncle Col. Ralph Rhudy piloted an A-20 while in command of the 410th Bombardment Group in preparation for the D-Day invasion.

This A-20 is on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in Dayton, OH.

Happy ! These are from the Consolidated B-24 Liberator "Strawberry Bitch" at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. I love when a museum allows 360 (or near 360) degree views of their aircraft to get a full range of different angles and shots.

B-25 Mitchell "Georgie's Gal" from the Liberty Aviation Museum

It's so obviously I have to shout out one of my favorite B-25 Mitchells of all time - "Georgie's Gal" from the Liberty Aviation Museum in Port Clinton, OH. I've seen her twice now on static display at the Columbus Air Show, and I've also had the opportunity to see her back at her home location.

For this week's , let's shout out the Republic F-105 Thunderchief, an American fighter-bomber most notable for its accomplishments in the Vietnam War.

This Thunderchief at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force is a two-seat "Wild Weasel" variant. Wild Weasel aircraft were typically equipped with anti-radiation missiles and used to suppress enemy air defenses.
