This past weekend at a cookout, someone I had just met said, âYouâre the photographer, right?!â
I have to admitâit caught me off guard.
If youâre new around here, Iâm in my second year of officially running this business. Photography has been a passion of mine for years, but I never quite owned the title Photographer (capital P!) until recently.
For so long, I dreamed of being a mom. I became a teacher. And when I stepped away from the classroom almost seven years ago to stay home with my boys, I tucked away that professional identity too. In fact, Iâve now officially been a former teacher longer than I ever was a teacher.
For years, Iâve introduced myself as a stay-at-home mom. And while Iâm incredibly proud of that role, Iâm learning to embrace the truth that I am also so much more.
This little businessâand all of YOUâhave helped me realize that. Thank you for inviting me to capture your families, your milestones, your businesses. You build and shape them with love and intention every day, and itâs an honor to step in and tell your story through my lens.
Hereâs to owning our titles and growing into the ones we never imagined for ourselves. đ
