Whenever I do senior portraits, I always suggest a minimum of 3 outfit changes. A dressier option, a day-to-day outfit that reads “you” and lastly, a college shirt/cap and gown/athletic outfit. Claire nailed all 3 and I love the variety from her images, thanks in part to the backdrop options at .historic.house in Leesburg. Funny enough, it wasn’t until she mentioned it that I realized I’d photographed her older sister in the same white dress for her senior pictures. Hey, when it works, it works. 📸Congratulations to all the 2026 seniors preparing for graduations over the next few weeks!

I have 15 nieces and nephews, with my 2 kiddos rounding out Mattingley grandkids to 17 total. Meet #14 ❤️ Claire is heading out to BYU in the fall and we recently met up for senior photos. I never presume that my services are desired for these photos, but I’m lucky to have photographed all 13 before her! Still working on her images but everything I’ve culled and edited so far are GORGINA.

Added two more weddings to my summer schedule this week! Yes, weddings are long days and a lot of work on the backend, but there are few moments in our lives that as monumental as our wedding day. I’m always so humbled when clients trust me to document theirs…… It’s also accompanied by nerves, an upset stomach needing a healthy amount of Imodium and the constant affirmation “don’t screw it up Kelli, you got this”.

Another weekend of sessions with two more to go, and then I’m closing the books on 2025! I’m taking all of December off ...

Another weekend of sessions with two more to go, and then I’m closing the books on 2025! I’m taking all of December off and I’m grateful to be able to do so. This has been my strongest fall season in years both in quantity of sessions and the speed of my work flow. Though I’ll be wrapping things up soon for this year, I’m thinking of ways to do some winter sessions and tossing around the idea of some minis in the Spring. I can’t ever sit idle for too long so stay tuned!

If you’ve been here long enough, you know that for years I used to dread detail shots. Okay, maybe less dread and more a massive fear of dropping or losing something precious while in my possession. 15+ years into this business, detail shots have become one of my favorite moments from a wedding day. Slowing down the pace of the day and taking time to be creative helps me recharge and power through the last few hours of coverage.

Details and flat lays often have me capturing sentimental items and that’s exactly what I was doing here. These dog tags belonged to a father who passed before a bride’s wedding day and this Lego figure a brother who didn’t get to be grossed out at all of the smooching and romance in the air. The bride shared such lovely stories about him with me during portraits and I knew I wanted to incorporate him in the details. They were both with us on the wedding day, in their own unique way. ❤️

My fall schedule is finally available! I always say I am a soccer mom first, photographer second. The season schedule was released and in turn, I'm releasing mine. I'm doing my best to balance sessions I already have booked in addition to the demand each season. I've added an abundance of dates to choose from, but don't anticipate on adding more this year so book FAST!

This past Tuesday I spent the night at my happy place - the soccer fields. A new season of soccer has started for my oldest, which means one thing - it’s almost time to release my schedule for the rest of the year. In another week we should have access to the full season game schedule and from there I build my availability.
