POTD: Milky Way Galactic Core

I took an Astrophotography Workshop last night with Distant Lands Photo Tours fantastically led by Jae Jarratt Photography and Jonathan Nicholas with special permit access to this uniques geological site east of Colorado Springs.

It's a lot of fun overcoming obstacles and getting better. This was my first attempt at capturing the Milky Way.

POTD: Summit Lake (Mt Blue Sky) exercise in focus stacking

The first one is a total fail. I tried a lot of things but couldn't recover the middle ground. When the wind is blowing the flowers around, Photoshop gets really confused when trying to stack and blend the images.

I need break my habit of shooting wide open apertures and get a wider depth of field. If I had done that, I probably could have got it all in focus with two images.
