Looks like I won't be needing to water the plants when I get home. The first day in a long while since we've seen any kind of moisture. Let alone rain in this bountiful flourishing season of late spring.
But today that all changes with a more active and steamy period, reaching are longest days of the year, of all things. Still on the other hand, seems like last week when I had to layer up in the parkinglot for carts
On the contrary note of last year. Are active period was coming to an end, right at the mid point through spring. With this crazy lighning at Grand Haven. That would be the last we would see of any future storms like this, all that summer. Tell the last week of September. When if you could remember that old predictable Grand Haven pattern that dome of drought. A place where storms come to die. Let's not have another sequel to that again this year.

Just one crackle of raw kinetic energy to rip
from top to bottom in the glare of incoming storms, one late night in May of 2009.
My first photo that year as well as all my life in capturing and chasing lightning. Was a bit of a (shocker) even after it flashed right out side my Moms front porch slider. (Sparking) a life time journey of chasing the unknown of pure Michigan weather.

The blue hour at Holland, with the full moon set at 6:30am. On just 4 hours of sleep. I drove all the way here only to completely pass out in my car for an hour in a half at the state park on March 1st. I was so tired. Woke up with ruffly a half hour before the moon set. It was quite literally, breathtaking out of this world, behind the stillness of all the ice burgs. The sun came up shortly after where I was able to get a birds eye view with the drone with it's first light at just 18 degrees F. With a slight gentle breeze that could cut right down to the bone of my dry and cracked hands and face. But all that's going to change in day's to follow entering the first week of March. The air will feel quite a bit nicer then what we were use to, but just won't be much to see. One reason why I had to pay one more visit to this vast wonderful place of winter stillness, my little safe haven. On the blue hour of the full moon. That I almost missed. While completely passed out in my car in the parkinglot.

Sunset split in two at Grand Haven with Steff, visiting her ant Kim in Muskegon. Had to wait tell 10 after 9 to get the afterglow. A half lit show. Taking me well past my bed time. There is a reason why you dont see nearly as many sunsets on the big lake this time of year. But the sky looked promising for this to happen, all evening. And its been a while, since early March. Just had to take that chance:)

All the pretty flowers. Looking like a grap vine at first glance, taking over the early low lying trees, shrubs and thickets of mid to late May.
I had to pull over and get up close and personal to see what these guy's were all about on my rought back home from another work day on 84th ave.
Known as the blue moon wisteria, they can bloom up to 3 times a year, symbolizing tranquility and calm, bringing the heart of the night into the very light of day. A breath of a soft spring rain, right before we swing in these long hot summer day's.
Something beautiful for your Saturday morning from May of last year.

Are blue world is nothing less then the heart of all miracles. A paradise in the wilderness.
I cought a flash of purple and blue, out of the corner of my eye, while driving down Division, on my way home from work. In march of last year. Thinking it could be crocuses the first sign of life, I had to pull over. But what I found on the side of the road had me shocked.
These were not crocuses by any means, no. I even had to touch the plants to see if they weren't fake. To my suprise of all things, they seemed to be a much smaller cousin of Iris family. A flower that normally opens up into the summer, in the blazing heat. Has just now, won the prize for the seasonal earliest risers, just after the snow and ice has retreated. My phone doesn't have the flower app. But I always love it when I discover something new, and nature is all about suprise.

Pancake ice arrived on a south wind and a heat wave at 55 degrees on the beach, February 26/26 and 27th. At Grand Haven and Holland State park. Growing restless in are hibernation. Was good to see the natural light. Was this a glimps of a more dacile climate. Not to far off in the future. Or just a momentary tease. Need we not carelessly stray so far.

The February sun holds a glimmer of hope in it's occasional unpredictable, appearance.
A settle warmth in it's glow, that hasn't been felt since some point of last year.
Softer sand beneath are feet draws out the reclusive to come out and explore.
A few have become many. And my secret spot, not so much a secret anymore.
For every season has it's day, and every sunset another dawn. We turn the page. As the world turns. A new song.

Big storms rolling into Cutlerville at about 2:30 this afternoon. It's a good thing its a take your camera to the chiropractor day. We were to busy running around town to ride out to see the storms. But this time they came to us, and very quickly. I didn't think they would make it this far north. Forcing us to pull over on the side of eastern Ave, at the providence church. I was able to get just a couple clicks with both the camera and phone. Before having to sprint back to the car with Steff. With winds whipping up to speeds of 80 mph. Knocking out power at intersections and down trees limbs all through out the area. And now the sun is shining a full force. Diving up the heat once again. Time to close back up them windows and crank up that air once again. As I am an air conditioned gypsy baby.
This is just a phone shot of course.

A sequel to Fridays sunrise. Unlike the last one. Today's was very brief. By the time I reached the mosquito infested shore. I was able to get just a couple clicks. Before, all fades with out a trace in a featureless sky.
But this is just the start of are first stretch of 80s, with active and possibly sevior storms to match, during the first half of this week. Followed by a quieter second half with a more spring like feel and temps back in the 60s.
A little something for everyone thrown in to a Michigan mix:)

A bit of a fire storm on my break at 6:18am if you missed it this morning with some very light incoming rain. Was hoping to get a good 15 minute nap in. Because they have me coming in at 3am instead of 4 now. Which means I have to get up by 2am. Really been a struggle so far this week. But seeing this really helped give some life into my breathless co**se. It truly astonishes me why I'm the only one that seems to be out here to watch the sunrise. So unbelievably beautiful. But at the sametime, I am really glad to be one standing here.
