I had a fun trip to northwest Ohio along the Lake Erie shoreline attending the "biggest week in birding." This event draws people from all over the world to witness the spring migration. The highlight is Magee Marsh where many species of warblers stop off to rest and refuel during their migration north. In all, I saw 22 different species of warblers in 2 1/2 days. Here is some of my favorite photos from the trip.

It seems not so long ago that bald eagles were a rare thing to see. It was big news when an eagle was spotted or a new nest was discovered.
On my most recent trip to the shores of Lake Erie in Ohio, I saw more Bald Eagles than I could keep track of. Conservation programs have been very beneficial to our national symbol. Here is an active nest where I observed both parents bringing fresh fish home for the family.
